Acadia Wellness, LLC Spring 2020

YOGA-We are based on principle of Hatha Yoga, linking breath with intentional movement, while also incorporating elements from other yoga traditions. Our philosophy is consistent with our Kripalu training welcoming EVERY BODY wherever they may be in their yoga journey; beginning or advanced as each student is encouraged to explore their own personal "edge" with modifications offered. It is our belief that in community many levels of yoga and fitness exist to compliment diversity.

Hatha Yoga  MONDAYS WEDNESDAYS and/or FRIDAYS (YIN YOGA)9:00am
The perfect chance to explore your own boundaries between effort and ease. This class focuses on body alignment, stretching and strengthening postures that increase flexibility and balance with every class at a comfortable pace while reaping all the benefits of yoga. Modifications are offered for each pose, thereby allowing both novice and experienced students the opportunity for a balanced practice. Monday's vinyasa is a "flow" of asanas from one to another allowing for continuous, graceful movement of the body as a whole,  Wednesday's Iyengar class is for clear instruction in alignment and posture integrity and form, and Friday's YIN YOGA class is for deep stretching necessary for an active body to decompress and release density accumulated throughout the week by breathing and relaxing into poses for a three minute intervals.

RESTORATIVE YOGA Tuesdays 6:30PM
Restorative Yoga consists of passive poses supported by yoga props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps.) This is a slow moving, gentle, healing yoga practice using deep relaxation, breath and meditation to maintain or renew any depletion of the body's energy. In this class the participants are encouraged to let go of tension and stress by eliminating unnecessary muscular strain while simultaneously releasing tension within the many layers of the body. Flexibility is achieved with clear instruction. The basics of meditation are introduced for those who need a more compassionate approach to yoga for restoration and renewal.

Holy Yoga Trauma Sensitive Thursdays 6:30pm

This is experiential worship specifically created to deepen your connection to Christ based on Mark 12:30 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength." Our sole purpose is to combine world-class yoga with a Christ-honoring experience that offers an opportunity to believers and non-believers alike to authentically connect with God. We do this by integrating His Word-The Bible- prayer, worship and the physical practice of yoga to contemporary Christian worship music. Non-believers are introduced to Jesus Christ and invited into the work of the Holy Spirit as Christians take time for much needed stillness to listen to His Voice or simply worship from the heart. Terri calls our practice "Prayer in Motion". Restorative Yoga consists of passive poses supported by yoga props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps.) This is a slow moving, gentle, healing yoga practice using deep relaxation, breath and meditation on God's Word (Bible) to maintain or renew any depletion of the heart, mind, soul and/or strength.
